High-Quality High-Volume Spay/Neuter and Vaccination Clinic Schedule:
Wednesday through Saturday | 8:00 AM•4:30 PM Join a Mission That Changes Lives Yuba Sutter SPCA is seeking an experienced and highly capable Veterinary Assistant•Front of House / Surgical Hybrid to join our team in a high-quality high-volume spay/neuter and vaccination clinic. This is a dual-role position that requires strength in both client communication and clinical support, playing a critical role in maintaining efficient patient flow and high standards of care. This position is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, structured environment, can communicate clearly and confidently with clients, and maintains exceptional attention to detail while supporting surgical operations.
Compensation & Benefits Starting Wage:

Consistent daytime schedule:
Wednesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM•4:30 PM. High-quality high-volume clinic environment. Unique hybrid role combining client interaction and hands-on clinical work. Collaborative team focused on efficiency, accuracy, and patient care. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of veterinary assistant experience required in general practice, surgery, or high-volume veterinary setting. Strong, confident client communication skills required. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail. Ability to multitask and transition between front and back of house responsibilities. Strong organizational skills and accuracy in documentation. Reliable, professional, and team-oriented. Essential Responsibilities Front of House (Client-Facing) Provide clear, professional, and efficient communication with clients. Manage fast-paced patient intake with accuracy and attention to detail. Ensure all patient information, consent forms, and records are complete and correct. Set clear expectations with clients regarding procedures, timing, and discharge. Support efficient client flow during vaccine clinics and surgical intake.
Surgical / Back
of House (Clinical Support) Assist with patient preparation for spay and neuter surgery. Safely restrain animals for exams, treatments, and procedures. Support RVTs and veterinarians during surgical and treatment procedures. Prepare and maintain surgical and treatment areas. Maintain strict sanitation and infection control standards. Assist with patient monitoring and recovery support as directed. Cross-Functional Responsibilities Support smooth transition of patients from intake → surgery → discharge. Reinforce discharge instructions clearly and confidently to clients. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and workflow efficiency throughout the clinic.
