Full Job Description Description:
Seven Hills Veterinary Hospital is looking for a
FULL TIME
veterinary assistant. We are a 24-hour general, emergency and specialty practice that cares for companion animals. Shift start and end times will vary slightly, but generally day shift is 7:30am - 6:00pm and swing shift is 2:00pm - 11:00pm on a 4-day work week. Weekends may also be included in these shifts. Hourly shift differential is provided for the swing shift. The veterinary assistants help all other team members to care for our patients and clients. All team members must have compassion for pets and their owners and understand the stress that patients (pets) and clients may endure. They understand and respect the human-animal bond. Veterinary Assistants have several functions including assisting the technicians and doctors with surgical procedures, assisting the doctors with outpatient examinations and procedures and helping our CSRs care for our clients. This is one of the most diverse roles in our hospital. We have monthly team meetings and monthly wellness activities. Our team has created culture of camaraderie and mutual respect. Job Summary:
Shall assist the doctors, other team members and clients with various procedures and services: Patient restraint Housekeeping- maintaining hospital cleanliness and organization Sterilizing instruments or supplies Stocking supplies Preparing medical supplies for use by the doctor or technician Caring for the patients in the hospital Navigating the practice management system - scheduling appointments, managing digital medical records Assisting clients when necessary; Answering the telephone Client check-out (invoicing, collecting payments)
Requirements:
Education and Experience Required:
CVA preferred (not required) High school diploma or equivalent Must be over 18 years old Experience working with or handling animals helpful Previous customer service experience helpful
Physical Requirements:
Capable of the following: standing, sitting, walking, stooping or kneeling, reaching with arms, talking and hearing Ability to lift or carry at least 40 pounds without assistance Vision close and normal, color vision and depth perception
Work Related Skills:
Able to read and interpret documents such as medical records and procedure manuals Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions Able to write simple correspondence Ability to learn and navigate the computer system Work well in a team environment Respect for all animals and team members

Salary:
The starting hourly wage is based on verifiable related experience. $17.50 - $19.00 starting hourly wage , based on experience and credentials. Swing shift offers a 10% shift differential
