Job Description

eterinary Specialists of the Rockies is seeking a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our specialty and referral hospital team. This is an excellent opportunity for an assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care while building meaningful relationships with clients and their pets. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting our veterinarians and specialty teams, ensuring efficient workflows and a positive experience for both patients and clients. This position is ideal for individuals who excel in patient handling, client communication, and multitasking within a high-level medical setting. Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with procedures and outpatient treatments to support efficient, high-quality care Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs in accordance with hospital protocols and safety standards Perform in-house laboratory testing accurately and efficiently Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, including reviewing treatment plans, discharge instructions, and answering questions professionally Accurately document and maintain detailed medical records Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment to ensure a safe and sanitary hospital environment Schedule This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule Saturday - Wednesday swing or overnight. Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay: $16.50 - $17.50 , based on experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) options Paid time off Employee pet care discount Uniform allowance Minimum Qualifications & Skills At least 1 year of veterinary assistant experience in a clinical setting (specialty experience preferred but not required) Proficiency in: Client communication Animal restraint Outpatient care General hospital cleaning and organization About Us Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies delivers advanced, compassionate medical care to pets while supporting a trusted network of referring veterinarians throughout the region. Our 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility is equipped with CT, ultrasound, digital radiography, an in-house laboratory and pharmacy, and multiple surgical suites. We provide specialty services in Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, and Critical Care.
