Job Description

Veterinary Assistant Mulnix Animal Clinic Fort Collins, CO We are an AAHA accredited small animal practice located in Northern Colorado and are looking for a full-time Veterinary assistant/technician to join our growing team. We use our assistants and technicians to their full potential and training is provided to increase technical skills. We believe in a Whole Person Approach when it comes to our veterinary teams. Duties and Responsibilities:
Checks patient medical records for past histories, enters in computer and files. Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients. Restraining and assisting the doctor during exams, treatments, and procedures. Assists CVT with technician appointments and tasks. Obtain urine or fecal samples from patients. Prepare samples for laboratory processing. Performs departmental housekeeping duties. Admits and discharges patients. Monitoring hospital patients and logging vital signs. Administering medications to patients as needed. Placing catheters and performing blood draws. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The technician must be able to multi-task. They must be able to think quickly on their feet. They must be able to develop positive working relationships with clients and co-workers.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation Range:
$15-$17/hour dependent upon experience.
