Job Description

Updated 1 June4, 2026 Veterinary Assistant Court Street Animal Hospital Clearwater, FL 33756 Small animal, three doctor practice, now hiring for an enthusiastic and caring individual to join our team. Position is primarily for veterinary assistant duties, with an emphasis on a very warm, personable personality. Opening is full-time or part-time during normal business hours, for the following days: Monday
  • Friday:
    8am
  • 5:30pm Every other Sat 9am
  • 1pm Our team is great with helping each other fill the schedule if movement is needed for other obligations.
Our hospital focuses on the best care for pets while utilizing top-notch standards of care and procedures. Dr. Todd and Dr. Welsh are experienced vets who practice high quality medicine, and Dr. Oliver is a recent graduate bringing the latest training in veterinary research and medicine. One year experience as veterinary assistant desired Experience with AVImark veterinary software desired, but not required Hands-on animal experience desired Hourly pay discussed at/after interview Desired education: high school + experience Primary assistant duties include but are not limited to: Collecting blood, stool, urine, or tissue samples Performing lab work and taking radiographs Inquiring, recording, and communicating patient histories Restraining calm, aggressive, or painful patients Feeding, walking, and monitoring patients Trimming nails, expressing anal glands, cleaning ears, and bathing patients Treatment for hospitalized patients Providing basic education and communicating treatment plans to pet owners Recommending products with confidence for the optimal care of the patient Cleaning, troubleshooting, organizing, and restocking of hospital equipment and supplies Preparing and administering medications Answering telephones and client questions Monitoring patients while under anesthesia Keeping the hospital clean and orderly Applicant must: Be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment Listen and communicate carefully and efficiently Follow written and verbal protocols precisely Provide excellent customer service Maintain a positive attitude Maintain a professional demeanor Have a strong work ethic Show attention to detail and safety Work well individually without supervision Be a team player Be punctual
