Veterinary Assistant/Technician

Animal Eye Doctors We are a boutique veterinary specialty practice in search of a motivated and compassionate person as a veterinary assistant or technician.

General Position Description:

We are looking for a veterinary assistant or technician with at least 1 year of experience and a passion for exceptional care and compassion for our clients and patients. We encourage professional growth and development and a positive attitude. A successful candidate will have the ability to or will have the opportunity to learn to (skills may vary with assistants vs technician): Obtain complete and pertinent client histories Restrain pets for ophthalmic examination Draw blood/ place IV catheters/ monitor anesthsia if a technician Understand veterinary terminology Support and anticipate the needs of the veterinarians and clients Support and encourage their teammates Communicate concisely and clearly Educate clients Problem solve

Qualifications:

Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a very busy environment Knowledge of basic computer software Communicates well with clients and medical staff Prior experience in a medical or veterinary office setting Must be detail oriented Has a mature and professional demeanor and dress Has a positive and solid work ethic Experience with pet patient restraint for examinations '
