Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, compassionate environment, supporting veterinarians with clinical procedures, animal handling, and client communication. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help ensure every animal receives top-quality care while fostering a positive experience for clients and team members alike. Duties Assist veterinarians with all aspects of animal care such as clinical procedures, animal restraint, catheterization, and laboratory sample collection. Other duties include maintaining cleanliness of cages, treatment areas, exam rooms, etc. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning, polishing, and radiography. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for exams, X-rays, or treatments while ensuring their comfort and safety. Maintain aseptic technique during surgical prep and assist with surgical procedures to uphold infection control standards. Operate veterinary equipment including X-ray machines, laboratory analyzers, and dental tools with precision. Provide pet care education to clients on topics such as behavior training, and basic health maintenance. Support critical care cases by monitoring vital signs and assisting in emergency interventions in veterinary critical care settings. Maintain accurate records of treatments, laboratory results, and procedural documentation in compliance with clinic protocols. Assist with laboratory tasks such as sample processing and understanding veterinary terminology related to diagnostics. Requirements Prior kennel experience or animal handling background is highly preferred but not required. Ability to perform animal restraint safely across a variety of species including dogs and cats, and to lift and hold 50 lbs. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate clients on pet health topics. Willingness to learn new skills such as veterinary critical care procedures or advanced diagnostic techniques. Pay:
