The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals in a veterinary clinic setting. This position requires a strong understanding of animal care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in various tasks, ensuring the well-being of our animal patients. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals safely and effectively. Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies. Perform routine kennel duties, including cleaning, feeding, and exercising animals. Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any changes to the veterinary staff. Administer medications as directed by veterinarians or veterinary technicians. Assist with laboratory work, including collecting samples and performing basic tests. Maintain accurate medical records for each animal patient. Support clients by providing information about pet care and answering questions regarding services. Skills To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following skills: Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology to assist in medical procedures effectively. Experience with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals. Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness during procedures. Understanding of animal husbandry practices to promote overall health and well-being. Experience working in a veterinary clinic or similar environment is preferred but not required. Ability to perform basic animal catheterization under supervision when necessary. Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
