Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Assistant and Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care, veterinary procedures, and clinic operations. This role involves supporting veterinarians in delivering exceptional medical care, managing animal handling and restraint, and assisting with clinical tasks to promote optimal health outcomes for our patients. Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including medication administration, animal restraint, and laboratory testing. Provide compassionate pet care and ensure animals are comfortable and well-handled during examinations and treatments. Maintain detailed knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques to support clinical accuracy. Perform animal husbandry duties such as feeding, cleaning, grooming, and monitoring health status. Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating effectively with pet owners. Handle animal catheterization procedures and assist with veterinary critical care when necessary. Ensure a clean, organized clinic environment by adhering to safety protocols and sanitation standards. Demonstrate proficiency in animal handling techniques specific to various species including dogs, cats, and equines. Prior experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter setting is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of animal restraint techniques, medication administration, and laboratory procedures. Experience with kennel management, pet care routines, and animal husbandry practices. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques. Ability to handle animals confidently across different species including dogs and horses. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail. Previous veterinary technician or assistant experience is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training or certification is advantageous. Pay:
$21.75 - $26.20 per hour
