Job Description
Job Overview Join our high-quality, small animal urgent care hospital. Bay Area Veterinary Care (BAVC) is seeking a full-time Veterinary Nurse who values great work-life balance, competitive pay, strong team culture, and career growth in an expanding urgent care setting. Our hospital is open 7 days a week from 12pm to 10pm, providing urgent care services to pets when they need it most with a flexible schedule. - Assist veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Perform routine and emergent laboratory tests, using Idexx equipment
- Confident with general anesthesia and monitoring patient vitals
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients recovering from illness or procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Educate clients on at-home care, medications, and follow-up recommendations
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, exam rooms, operating room and kennels
- Handle animals safely and compassionately during examinations and treatments Requirements
- Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures, animal physiology, medical terminology and patient care
- Proficiency in safe and low-stress animal handling techniques
- Experience with radiology, surgical and laboratory equipment preferred
- Excellent communication skills with clients and team members
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced urgent care environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Certification preferred but not required (equivalent experience considered)
