Job Description

Join a growing veterinary team where your skills truly matter. Mars Hill Pet Care is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician / Veterinary Assistant (minimum 5 years veterinary experience required) to join our team. We are looking for a motivated, dependable team member who is confident in technical skills and passionate about providing exceptional patient care. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong experience in surgery, dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, and advanced patient care.
Responsibilities Include:
✔ Surgical patient preparation and recovery ✔ Dental prophylaxis and dental radiograph assistance ✔ Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and patient support ✔ IV catheter placement and venipuncture ✔ Blood collection and laboratory sample handling ✔ Patient restraint and low-stress handling techniques ✔ Medication administration (oral, injectable, SQ, IV as permitted) ✔ Digital radiology assistance and positioning ✔ Monitoring hospitalized patients ✔ Client education and discharge instructions ✔ Assisting doctors during examinations and procedures ✔ Maintaining surgical packs, sterilization, and treatment area organization ✔ Medical record documentation and treatment execution
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience in veterinary medicine (required) Strong surgery and dental experience Comfortable with anesthesia monitoring and recovery protocols Confident IV catheter placement and blood draws Experience with hospitalized and critical care patients preferred Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Leadership and mentoring ability is a plus
