Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Office Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and client service. This energetic role combines front desk responsibilities with hands-on animal handling, offering a rewarding opportunity to support veterinary professionals and ensure smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently. Answer phone calls promptly, provide information to pet owners, and handle inquiries professionally. Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments to ensure safety for both animals and staff if needed. Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, sample collection, and basic animal care tasks if needed Maintain accurate medical records, update patient files, and stay up to date with payments, reconciling accounts, bill pay, sales tax, and other accounting duties Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment using aseptic techniques, and assist with laboratory procedures when needed. Manage inventory of medical supplies, medications, and pet care products to ensure clinic readiness. Manage online pharmacy requests, answer emails and several other software apps. Experience office experience with quick books, accounts payables, bill pay, sales tax Experience working in a veterinary clinic or veterinary assistant role is preferred. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy enhances your effectiveness in this role. Hands-on experience with pet care tasks such as dog handling, animal restraint, catheterization, and medication administration is advantageous, but not required. Knowledge of laboratory procedures and veterinary critical care practices will help you excel in supporting clinical operations. Strong communication skills combined with animal handling expertise will enable you to thrive in this energetic position.
