Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and team members by delivering high-quality care to animals. Your passion for animal welfare and your ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be key to ensuring the health and comfort of our patients. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing the necessary instruments and equipment. Perform routine tasks such as cleaning and sterilizing instruments, maintaining a clean workspace, and managing inventory of supplies. Utilize animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the animals and staff during examinations or treatments. Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the veterinary team. Assist with laboratory tasks, including collecting samples for testing and performing basic laboratory procedures. Place IV catheters and monitor patients under anesthesia and assist in patient recovery. Perform dental cleanings with full mouth radiographs. Maintain accurate records of patient information, treatments administered, and medications given. Educate pet owners on proper care practices, including nutrition, behavior training, and preventive health measures. Qualifications Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a related field Familiarity with veterinary terminology is essential for effective communication within the team. Strong skills in medical grooming, dog handling, and animal restraint Experience with veterinary critical care or laboratory work is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with team members, clients and their pets. Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
