Job Description
Total Veterinary Care in Kennesaw (Greater Atlanta Area), a two-doctor, general day practice, is looking for a dedicated, motivated, and experienced full-time vet assistant/non-licensed vet tech to join our dynamic team. Hiring range : $16 - $18 per hour, depending on experience and skill-level. We are looking for someone who: Has at least 1 FULL YEAR (12+ months) of full-time experience as a veterinary assistant in a general practice, small animal hospital Has the ability to demonstrate: proper restraining techniques, in-house laboratory skills, catheter placement, blood draws, ability to accurately fill prescriptions, etc. Has solid soft skills/people skills including: effective communication with clients and fellow team members, problem-solving, work ethic, maturity, time-management, etc. Has a solid understanding of preventative medications, medical terminology and calculations, and a passion for client education Takes initiative by preparing for appointments, taking medical histories, assisting DVMs in surgery, exams, and diagnostic workups Can demonstrate efficient organization and the ability to pay attention to multiple details Wants to learn new skills and is focused on using them to advance their careers for the betterment of themselves, their team, and the clients and patients we serve Has a positive attitude and is an effective and respectful team player In return, we provide: Competitive compensation Excellent benefits package including health, dental and vision insurances; paid vacation, sick and personal time; veterinary benefits; uniform allowance; and more! Our hospital's hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m, Mon. - Sat.
