In this vital role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by providing compassionate animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring a clean, safe environment for both animals and staff. Your energy and attention to detail will help create a positive experience for every pet and pet owner who walks through our doors. Duties Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for animals and staff. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under the supervision of licensed veterinarians or veterinary technicians. Support animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and cleaning kennels to maintain optimal animal health and comfort. Handle pet care responsibilities including feeding schedules, monitoring behavior, and providing comfort to hospitalized animals. Maintain accurate records of medical treatments, medication administration, and laboratory results following veterinary terminology standards. Assist with laboratory procedures such as sample collection, preparation, and processing to support diagnostic testing. Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating with pet owners effectively. Follow aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections and maintain a sterile environment. Support veterinary critical care activities by monitoring vital signs and assisting in emergency situations when needed. Skills Proven kennel experience combined with animal husbandry skills to ensure high standards of animal care. Strong veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience with knowledge of veterinary terminology and clinical procedures. Experience in veterinary critical care settings demonstrating ability to assist in urgent situations. Excellent animal handling skills across various species including dogs and cats. Ability to perform animal restraint safely using appropriate techniques for different animals. Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to sample collection, processing, and analysis. Familiarity with front desk operations such as appointment scheduling and client communication. Understanding of pet care essentials including medication administration, pet nutrition, and basic anatomy knowledge. Competence in performing animal catheterization and other invasive procedures following aseptic protocols.
