Veterinary Technician/Assistant

Pet Medical Center of Urbandale is an independently owned, 2 doctor (soon to be 3) clinic that just moved in to our new, beautiful facility and looking to add full-time or part-time veterinary technicians/assistant to our team. Previous veterinary technical experience is preferred and will receive precedence but willing to train someone with the right attitude and motivation, looking for a long-term career in the industry. Candidate must be a quick learner, responsible, able to work individually as well as part of a team efficiently, be detail-oriented, take instruction well, and be passionate about providing quality patient and client care. We consider our clients and patients family! To maximize your training and success you must be self-motivated to learn and grow using our formal tiered training system.

Responsibilities include:

assisting in the exam room, drawing up vaccinations, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, assisting in surgery, anesthesia recovery, radiology, dental cleanings and intraoral radiographs, client education and communication, facility cleaning, answering the phone when needed, and additional skills related to veterinary medicine as you grow your skill set. Full-time benefits include health insurance reimbursement, paid time off, paid holidays, CE, and veterinary benefits. Compensation based on skills, years of experience and proven performance. Hours include rotating Saturdays and potential for one late night a week.
