Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician/Veterinary Assistant and become an essential part of providing compassionate, high-quality care to animals. In this role, you will support veterinarians and pet owners by performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks that ensure smooth daily operations. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive environment for pets and their families, while advancing your skills in veterinary medicine. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow professionally in a fast-paced, pet-centered setting. Duties Assist veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring proper animal restraint and handling at all times Prepare animals for surgery, including anesthesia induction, monitoring vital signs, and post-operative recovery using aseptic techniques Perform laboratory tests such as blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses Maintain detailed records of animal health histories, treatments, and laboratory results with precision and confidentiality Conduct pet grooming, pet care, and animal husbandry tasks to promote overall well-being and comfort of animals in our care Take and develop X-ray images, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed for accurate diagnostics Support pet owners with education on pet care, dental terminology related to oral health, and behavioral training such as dog training techniques Qualifications Previous kennel experience or animal handling experience preferred; familiarity with dog handling and animal restraint techniques is essential Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care practices is highly desirable Laboratory experience including sample collection and processing will be advantageous Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, animal catheterization procedures, pet grooming skills, and X-ray operation Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate pet owners on pet care topics such as dental health and pet grooming routines Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and compassion for animals This position is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals eager to expand their veterinary knowledge while making a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their families.
