Job Description

Vetique is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team! This position is located in Gold Coast, Chicago, IL. Vetique is a veterinary hospital that desires to give patients and clients the gold standard of care. We are seeking a highly motivated hooman who is excited about working with animals and has previous experience working in veterinary medicine. The ideal candidate will be comfortable assisting with wellness and sick visits, have surgical experience, strong computer skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Emergency care experience is not required, but it is a plus!
Job Responsibilities:
Assist the veterinarian with non-emergency cases such as wellness and sick visits. Handle cases that require medication or treatment. Communicate with the patient's doctor and hospital team to ensure appropriate care is being provided. Maintain accurate records and ensure all necessary notes are completed and/or collected. Work closely with the clinical staff to ensure patient care is being delivered efficiently and effectively. Provide general patient care, including but not limited to holding during exams, vaccination administration, medication administration, and wound care. Assist veterinarians in performing routine procedures (e.g., dental cleanings). Assist technicians in surgery (e.g., placement of instruments, anesthesia, and planning) as needed. Converse with clients over the phone, email and in person regarding their pet's health care. Other duties as assigned by management.
Experience:
2+ years experience working at a veterinary clinic as a veterinary technician.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
