Fear Free Certified Practice Loyal Companions Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team in St. Charles, Illinois. Loyal Companions is unlike any other animal hospital. Designed as a state-of-the-art Fear Free Certified Practice, our hospital was built on Dr. Vicki Petsche's vision of providing exceptional veterinary care delivered with both excellence and compassion. After practicing in traditional veterinary medicine for 22 years, Dr. Petsche made her dream a reality by opening Loyal Companions in 2016. Today, Dr. Petsche, Dr. Oriold, Dr. Sherman, and our dedicated team work together to exceed the expectations of pets and their people. Through our Fear Free approach, we strive to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress while providing a calm, pet-centered experience. A passion for veterinary medicine, Fear Free handling, and exceptional client service is a must. Veterinary experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who is eager to learn and passionate about providing exceptional care. Candidates should have a flexible schedule and be available to work Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting veterinarians and Certified Veterinary Technicians during appointments Helping with blood draws, nail trims, vaccinations, and patient restraint Cleaning and stocking treatment and exam areas Assisting with surgery preparation, running the autoclave, and preparing surgical packs Managing laundry and maintaining a clean hospital environment Assisting with radiology procedures Helping with phone calls and front desk duties as needed Supporting teammates wherever needed to ensure excellent patient care Growing your skills and responsibilities as part of a collaborative team If you are looking for a positive, supportive workplace where you can grow professionally while making a difference in the lives of pets and their families, we'd love to hear from you!
