Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.
Position Summary:
The Vet Assistant provides health care support to laboratory animals and general support for discovery research. Animal Care operates under the direction of management to ensure a quality and compliant animal care and use program. Veterinary Resources is part of the larger research laboratories. This is a crucial role in supporting the internal in vivo research while ensuring high standards of animal heal and well-being.
Duties and Responsibilities:
It is everyone's responsibility to live out our Values and Absolutes by Shaping a World of Trust while ensuring responsible progress. Observes laboratory animals for indications of poor health or rodent diseases Assists veterinary team in triage and provides immediate care to emergency cases and escalate issues as appropriate Consults with veterinarians and research personnel on treatment options. Administers clinical treatments, collects diagnostic samples and administers euthanasia when necessary Reports on issues of protocol, SOP or policy non-compliance. Maintains animal health records and integrity of information Follows the guidelines set forth with clients and in the Company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures. Complies with clients and Company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies. Other duties as defined by manager, department needs and workload.

Education and Experience:
Associates Degree in related field Minimum of one year of experience working directly with animals Certified Vet Tech (CVT) qualification preferred An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
Compensation Range:
$23.00-$26.00 per hour (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as location, education, experience, and skillset).
