Job Description

If you don't have extensive hands-on equine experience, please do not apply. Janssen Veterinary Clinic is a progressive seven-doctor equine practice in Hamilton County, Indiana, and we're looking for a skilled equine professional who lives and breathes horses. This isn't an entry-level position•we need someone who is already a confident, competent horse handler with real-world experience across multiple riding disciplines.

You have years of hands-on horse experience and are comfortable handling horses from all disciplines•western, English, racing, draft, and everything in between
Confident Handler:
You can read horse behavior, work safely around nervous or difficult horses, and maintain control in high-pressure veterinary situations

You're detail-oriented and can juggle multiple tasks without dropping the ball

You maintain strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues, keeping everyone informed and satisfied
Doctor's Right Hand:
You keep your veterinarian on track, anticipate needs, and ensure the practice operates at maximum efficiency

What You'll Do:
Provide expert handling and restraint during examinations and procedures Assist doctors with wellness care, lameness evaluations, dentistry, ultrasound, shockwave therapy, endoscopy, and more Educate clients on horse care and treatment plans Manage medical records and billing with precision Support ambulatory (farm calls) and in-clinic appointments Perform nursing care, laboratory procedures, and emergency assistance Clean and prep equipment before and after procedures

Non-Negotiable:
