Candidate must be friendly, outgoing, and people oriented. Must be a self-motivated, team player who is attentive to detail, effective at oral and written communication, and demonstrates strong technical skills. Computer and telephone skills are a must. In this position you will be supporting our team by maintaining a positive, low stress atmosphere while administering best medicine for our patients and clients. Duties may include but are not limited to: Responsibilities and Duties The duties of a Veterinary Assistant include: Ensuring that clients and pets feel welcome and comfortable Assisting veterinarians to provide compassionate nursing care Performing cursory exams and educating clients on all aspects of pet health Maintaining complete and accurate medical records by obtaining relevant information and history from clients Filling prescriptions as directed by a veterinarian, and explaining prescription directions and potential side effects to clients Assisting receptionists with check-in and checkout procedures and providing telephone support Preparing various laboratory tests Suggesting dietary products and other services to clients Keeping our facilities clean and well maintained Using safe restraining techniques and following standard protocols Summary As a Veterinary Assistant/Technician, you will be integral to providing high-quality care for animals in a veterinary setting. Reporting to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, you will utilize your core skills in animal handling, veterinary terminology, and pet care to assist in examinations and treatments. Your premium skills in veterinary critical care and laboratory experience will enhance our team's capabilities. Strong communication and computer skills are essential for effective collaboration and record-keeping.
