Job Description

About This Role The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team to help facilitate exemplary patient care in the Small Animal ICU. This position will provide assistance to VHC veterinarians and veterinary nurses in the performance of their duties. This will include providing patient care support, maintaining area cleanliness and equipment upkeep, stocking of service supplies, and ensuring accuracy of medical records. Working hours will be part-time and will primarily provide weekend coverage in the Small Animal ICU. This is a temporary, one-year assignment. The VHC strives to provide exceptional care for patients from high-quality routine healthcare to state-of-the-art advanced therapy for seriously ill patients. The Veterinary Health Center is located in Manhattan, Kansas which is a vibrant college community with a population of over 55,000 in the Flint Hills. Worksite Description This position is required to be performed On-site . Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho. What You'll Need to
Succeed Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma One year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of experience as a veterinary assistant providing patient care. Ability to work with and provide preventative maintenance for ordinary medical equipment. Ability to handle, restrain, and provide medical treatments to domestic animals. Willingness to master new techniques.
