Job Description

Client Communication Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join expanding team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and veterinary practices, with the ability to provide high-quality support to veterinarians and ensure the well-being of our animal patients. This role requires a blend of technical skills, knowledge of veterinary terminology, excellent customer service care and a passion for animal health. We are an energetic team seeking an applicant who desires to deliver excellent care and customer service. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform diagnostic tests, including blood work and X-rays. Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation. Provide client education on pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Handle and restrain animals safely during procedures. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment. Participate in laboratory work, including sample collection and analysis. Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures. Communicate clearly with pet owners about appointments, procedures, and follow-ups Handle sensitive situations with empathy (e.g., sick pets, emergencies, euthanasia visits) Provide basic information on services, policies, and preventative care Coordinate between veterinarians, technicians, and clients Experience Candidates should have prior experience in veterinary settings, with a preference for those who possess the following skills: Veterinary technician experience with knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy. Familiarity with veterinary terminology and dental terminology. Experience with animal husbandry practices, including dog handling and pet grooming. Background in veterinary critical care or laboratory work is advantageous. Equine experience is a plus but not required. Knowledge of animal catheterization techniques is beneficial.
