Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and/or Registered Veterinary Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing essential support to veterinarians and ensuring the highest standards of animal health and well-being. Whether you're involved in animal handling, diagnostic procedures, surgical assistance, or patient care, your skills will help create a compassionate and efficient veterinary practice that prioritizes quality care for every patient. Duties Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, catheterization, and aseptic techniques to ensure safe and effective treatments. Perform laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment such as laboratory and X-ray machines to aid in accurate diagnosis. Handle animals safely using proper handling, animal husbandry, and restraint techniques, ensuring comfort and safety for both pets and staff. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with oral care routines. Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, laboratory results, and radiographs while adhering to veterinary terminology standards. Provide quality pet care and monitoring vital signs to promote overall health. Assist with large animal care when applicable, including handling and basic veterinary procedures specific to large animals. Skills Proven experience in kennel management, animal handling, and pet care with a focus on animal physiology and anatomy knowledge. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, critical care procedures, and laboratory techniques relevant to veterinary medicine. Ability to perform animal restraint effectively during examinations or treatments while maintaining safety standards. Experience with veterinary technician responsibilities such as assisting with surgeries or complex diagnostics like laboratory testing or imaging. Capable of working efficiently in a team environment while managing multiple tasks involving animal catheterization and critical care procedures. $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
