Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as an Experienced Vet Tech/Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional animal care! You will assist veterinarians in medical procedures, provide compassionate pet care, and ensure the highest standards of animal handling and safety. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, including X-ray imaging and laboratory testing. Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff. Prepare animals for procedures by administering medications, setting up equipment, and maintaining aseptic techniques. Conduct thorough animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, pet care, and monitoring vital signs. Maintain accurate records of veterinary procedures, laboratory results, and patient histories. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning, polishing, and extractions. Handle laboratory work including sample collection, processing tests, and understanding animal physiology relevant to diagnostics. Manage kennel duties efficiently while providing exceptional pet care and ensuring animals are comfortable and well-cared-for. Assist with equine care tasks when necessary, demonstrating knowledge of horse anatomy and handling techniques. Operate X-ray machines safely to produce clear images for diagnosis while adhering to aseptic protocols. Skills Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong foundation in veterinary terminology and animal anatomy knowledge. Extensive kennel experience combined with dog handling skills and dog training familiarity. Proficiency in dental terminology, pet grooming, and pet care best practices. Hands-on experience with animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and laboratory procedures. Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices and emergency response protocols. Ability to perform animal husbandry tasks confidently across various species including small animals and equines. Strong understanding of animal physiology to assist in diagnostics and treatment plans. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Commitment to maintaining high standards of aseptic technique during all procedures. $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
