Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant and Technician to join our veterinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic animal care environment, providing essential support in clinical procedures, animal handling, and client communication. The ideal candidate will have experience with veterinary procedures, animal husbandry, and clinic operations, demonstrating a strong commitment to animal welfare and professional growth. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with clinical examinations, treatments, and surgeries, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques. Handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, utilizing proper restraint and handling techniques. Administer medications accurately and monitor patient responses during recovery. Manage animal care tasks such as feeding, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas. Support front desk operations including appointment scheduling, client communication, and record keeping. Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary terminology and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Assist in pet care education for clients regarding animal health, nutrition, and behavior. Support the team during critical care situations with appropriate animal physiology knowledge. Qualifications Previous kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience preferred. Experience with veterinary terminology, medication administration, and laboratory procedures. Skilled in animal restraint techniques for various species including dogs and cats. Ability to handle animals safely during procedures such as catheterization or laboratory testing. Experience with front desk duties such as scheduling or client communication is a plus. Animal handling skills Prior veterinary assistant or technician experience is highly valued.
