Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Assistant, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals, ensuring their well-being, and assisting with various tasks related to their health and comfort. Responsibilities Must be able to work weekends, and Holidays! Provide daily care for dogs and other animals in the kennel, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Assist with animal handling during check-in and check-out processes. Support veterinary technicians with basic procedures as needed. Engage with pet owners, providing excellent customer service and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Help with heavy lifting of supplies or equipment as necessary. Participate in training sessions for dog handling and animal restraint techniques. Previous kennel experience is preferred but not required. A strong willingness to learn and a love for animals are essential attributes for this role.
