Veterinary Assistant/Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant & Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care for animals while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures. Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the animals and staff. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Prepare animals for surgery, including dental prophys. Handle and care for animals in the kennel area, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray (body and/or dental) machines as needed. Educate pet owners on proper animal care and health management. Any other assigned responsibilities. Skills Proficient in animal restraint techniques to ensure safe handling of various species. Knowledge of veterinary terminology to communicate effectively within the team. Experience with aseptic technique to maintain sterile environments during procedures. Strong dog handling skills, with an understanding of canine behavior. Ability to perform laboratory tasks accurately and efficiently.
