Kennel Assistant 310 Woodward Road, Westminster, MD 21157 From $16 an hour - Part-time, Full-time From $16 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Job Overview Feathers, Scales and Tails Veterinary Hospital is looking for dependable, energetic, hard‑working full‑time and part‑time Kennel Assistants to join our team. If you love animals, enjoy staying active, and want to be part of a supportive environment, this could be the perfect fit. Weekend and holiday hours are required, though we will rotate hours and duties. This individual will need reliable transportation. In this role, you will assist with daily kennel operations, ensure the well-being of animals, and support veterinary staff with essential tasks. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for our furry patients and their families. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in animal husbandry, handling, and veterinary procedures while making a positive impact on animals' lives. Duties Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and animal areas to promote health and hygiene. Walk dogs and provide enrichment and positive interaction. Wash and fold laundry, clean dishes, and help keep the facility organized. Handle and dispose of animal waste safely and efficiently. Ensure all animals always have fresh food and water. Help maintain the overall cleanliness and standards of our facility. Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and medication administration to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal handling, sample collection, and basic medical procedures. Experience is preferred, but we're happy to train the right person who brings a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Pay:
From $16.00 per hour
