Veterinary Assistant

Do you have a strong desire to work with animals? Are you dependable and hard working? We are looking for someone to join our team to provide exceptional service to our clients and our clients' pets. No veterinary experience necessary, but candidate must have some personal animal experience. With our on the job training, candidate will learn how to handle cats and dogs in a professional, safe manner and learn about the various vaccines we provide and how to administer them under veterinary supervision. Candidate will also learn how to run various blood and lab tests. Candidate must be able to lift 40 pounds and must be comfortable learning and becoming proficient with the clinic software. Additionally, candidate must be ready to provide backup to our receptionist. Our phones can be quite busy at times and we strive to give our clients exceptional customer service. All team members are expected to maintain a clean and presentable environment and help with end of day cleaning. Candidate should expect to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 1:00 - 5:00 and some Saturdays 8:00-12:00. Flexibility to fill-in for coworkers during sickness and vacations is a must. Veterinary and customer service experience a plus, but not necessary. Candidate must also possess positive attitude under stressful situations, ability to multi-task, and have an out going personality. We are a very busy, full service general practice veterinary office, providing wellness and medical examinations, vaccinations, as well as a full range of surgical procedures.
