Full-time About Us:
We are a small, privately owned veterinary practice located in Windham, Maine. Our clinic takes pride in providing compassionate, personalized care to our patients and building lasting relationships with their owners. We offer a supportive, close-knit team environment with a slower-paced workflow that allows us to focus on quality care rather than volume.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant, Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who values teamwork, enjoys a calmer work environment, and is dedicated to patient care and client communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and procedures Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately Prepare and maintain exam rooms and equipment Perform basic laboratory tasks and diagnostics (depending on experience/credentials) Administer medications and vaccines (as permitted by credentials) Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care and follow-ups Maintain accurate medical records Support overall clinic cleanliness and organization
Qualifications:
Veterinary Assistant experience or current CVT, LVT, or RVT certification/license Strong animal handling skills and a compassionate approach to patient care Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Positive attitude and willingness to learn Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
