Job Overview Join us as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this role you will provide support by assisting with animal handling, medical procedures, and client communication. About Us We provide high quality low-cost spay/neuter surgeries through our nonprofit, Quick Fix Veterinary Clinic, and additional surgeries and dentistry through Michigan Pet Surgery & Dentistry Clinic. We also provide basic Wellness care (vaccines, ear infections, etc.). We are located in a large house on 7 acres. It provides a peaceful and open environment for all. Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations and procedures Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, laboratory work, and sample collection using proper aseptic techniques Provide pet care and animal husbandry, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring animals' health status Help maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by sanitizing equipment, treatment areas, and kennels in accordance with veterinary protocols Assist with specialized procedures including animal catheterization, injections, and surgical support when needed Requirements Experience in veterinary clinics is highly valued Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and pet care practices Experience with dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and pet medication administration Familiarity with laboratory procedures and veterinary critical care practices is a plus Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a busy clinical setting Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners A proactive attitude toward learning new skills related to veterinary assistant responsibilities Benefits (full time positions only) Customized health plan that includes vision and dental insurance PTO & Sick Pay allowance Retirement contributions Flexible schedule-3.5 to 4.5 days per week (for the right full-time individual we consider 32 hours/week to be full time) CE allowance & license fees paid Employee pet discounts on services Embark on a rewarding career supporting the health and happiness of animals!
