Job Description

APAWS Veterinary Hospital is looking to add a receptionist and kennel assistant to our growing team! This position will be split between reception duties and kennel assistant duties. Applicants must be able to be on their feet throughout the day and be able to lift 50lbs without assistance. Must have experience with veterinary medicine, can work well with others, multitask and has a positive attitude. APAWS is a 501c3 non-profit veterinary hospital located in Eastpointe, MI. Our objective is to provide high-quality care at an affordable price. We not only serve the general public, but we also have several rescue, and law enforcement partners.
Reception Duties:
Answer a multiple line phone Schedule appointments/surgeries Medical notes/Maintain records Highly skilled in client communication Collect proper owner and pet information Check-in/out appointments Invoice/Process payments Keep reception area/lobby clean and organized Communicate well with team members Cornerstone (practice software) experience is preferred but not necessary.
Kennel Assistant Duties:
Maintain a clean work environment Maintain hospital grounds General janitorial duties Sweep/vacuum/mop floors Clean kennels/Walk dogs Clean up animal waste/bodily fluids Feed/Medicate animals Wash and dry laundry (kennel and surgical) Wash dishes Follow written and verbal directions for proper animal care Basic animal handling skills (dog and cat)
Pay:
From $17.00 per hour
