  • Full-time About us BAC is a private, four doctor practice that values family and work/life balance.
We count on our LVT's and Assistants to fully use their skills to assist our doctors in all areas of the clinic (Exam room, Surgery, Dental, Hospital care) to provide excellent service for our patients. We are a paperless practice that uses IDEXX products (Cornerstone PM software, Full Vetlab Suite, Digital radiography) to make patient management efficient and seamless. OR AN EXPERIENCED VETERINARY ASSISTANT
(1-2years of In-clinic experience preferred) Full-time (35-40 hrs/wk) Benefits Salary commensurate with experience ```
Duties:
```
  • Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
  • Running appointments including taking histories, TPR's, and running labs, client communication and recommendation of products and services.
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures, such as blood work and urinalysis
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
  • Take and develop x-rays of animals
  • Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
  • Monitor animals during recovery from surgery or illness
  • Clean and maintain veterinary equipment and instruments
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration ```
Requirements:
```
  • Certification or degree in veterinary technology or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in X-Ray techniques and equipment operation
  • Strong skills in handling dogs and other animals with care and compassion
  • Knowledge of animal physiology, veterinary terminology, and veterinary critical care
  • Experience in dog training or equine care is a plus
  • Familiarity with animal husbandry practices and aseptic technique
  • Ability to perform animal catheterization under supervision
