Job Description

Job Overview Join our privately-owned veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant/Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this role you will support veterinarians and pet owners by assisting with clinical procedures, animal handling, and laboratory work. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help ensure every pet receives compassionate, high-quality treatment in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, catheterization, and sample collection. Perform tasks such as feeding, medicating, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas. Support anesthetic procedures by monitoring patients, understanding dental/animal biology terminology and assisting with post-operative care and education. Operate laboratory equipment for diagnostic testing, including X-ray/blood/urine, and other diagnostic tools. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, ensuring their comfort and safety during examinations. Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, laboratory results, and radiographs. Support pet owners with pet care advice, including feeding, grooming, and basic training tips. Requirements Previous kennel experience or animal handling background is required. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care practices. Hands-on experience with venipuncture, laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, and pet grooming is advantageous. Ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively while demonstrating compassion. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and educate pet owners. A proactive attitude, great sense of humor, a passion for animal welfare and continuous learning in veterinary medicine is required! Pay:
$17.00 - $22.00 per hour
