Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in delivering high-quality care to animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, treatments, and surgeries while ensuring a safe and clean environment for both patients and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and possess relevant skills in veterinary practices. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort of the animals. Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and preparing animals for surgery. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including examination rooms and surgical areas. Handle and restrain animals safely during procedures and examinations. Prepare equipment for surgeries, including sterilization and aseptic technique. Maintain accurate medical records and assist with client communication regarding pet care. Support kennel operations by caring for animals, including feeding, walking, and cleaning their living spaces. Skills Proficiency in animal handling techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Familiarity with veterinary terminology to communicate effectively within the team. Experience in dog handling to manage various breeds safely. Knowledge of animal anatomy to assist in examinations and treatments. Ability to perform aseptic techniques during surgical procedures. Understanding of animal catheterization processes to support medical interventions. Experience with X-Ray procedures is a plus but not mandatory. Previous experience in a kennel environment or pet grooming is beneficial.
