Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Rice Creek Animal Hospital is hiring full-time Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to provide skilled care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients. Salary:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedul e:

Four days a week, 7:45am-6:00pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries. Be the first point of contact: Greet clients and their pets warmly, complete the sign-in process, verify and confirm appointment details, and ensure clients feel informed and reassured.

Support clinical flow:

Escort clients to exam rooms, assist in relaying key information between clients and clinical staff.

Manage client communications:

Handle incoming calls for appointments, care questions, prescription refills, and more. Make outbound calls for appointment reminders and follow-up care. Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples Administer medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarian Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting is required. Technical know-how in areas such as disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment. Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
