Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team at our small family-owned general practice as a Veterinary Assistant! We are looking for friendly, quick-learning individual to become a vital part of providing compassionate, high-quality care to animals. This vital role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced veterinary professionals in a fast-paced environment dedicated to animal health and well-being. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will support veterinarians by assisting with animal care, clinical procedures, and client communication, ensuring every pet receives the best possible treatment. This paid position is ideal for passionate animal lovers who are also people oriented and eager to develop their skills in veterinary medicine and animal husbandry. Duties Assist with animal restraint, handling, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques in treatment areas, surgical suites, and kennels to uphold infection control standards Provide front desk support by greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records with professionalism Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, medicating and monitoring vital signs to promote optimal health Support diagnostic procedures by understanding veterinary terminology, assisting with laboratory tests, and submitting lab work Qualifications Enthusiasm for working with animals is essential Experience in veterinary clinics or as a veterinary assistant is highly desirable but not required; familiarity with veterinary terminology is a plus Ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively across various species appreciated Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members professionally Capable of following aseptic techniques during clinical procedures and medication administration Willingness to learn new skills Embark on a rewarding career where your dedication makes a difference in the lives of animals and their owners. Pay:
