Part-time Job Opportunity:

Part-Time Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Assistant Are you passionate about animals and looking to join a dynamic and caring team? Howard County Veterinary Service, a full-service mixed animal practice, is seeking a part-time Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Assistant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Animal Care:

Clean kennels, ICU cages, and assist in the care of dogs, cats, and other animals.

Facility Maintenance:

Maintain cleanliness in the clinic, the barn, and surrounding areas, including mowing.

Medical Assistance:

Assist doctors during client appointments, surgical procedures, radiographs, and ultrasounds.

Medications:

Administer prescribed medications to animals under supervision.

Client Interaction:

Communicate effectively with pet owners and livestock producers, answer phones, and help at the front desk, including scheduling appointments.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with animal handling and customer service is preferred, but not required. Physical strength to safely handle and restrain large dogs and other animals. Willingness to learn and possibly assist in large animal medicine. Availability on Saturdays (8 am to 12 pm) Availability to care for kennel and hospitalized animals on the weekend for additional compensation.
