Noah's Ark Animal Clinic is an exceptional, full-service, veterinary clinic located in the heart of Brookside. We are a fast-paced three-doctor practice seeking a highly motivated, responsible, experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Our office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and Tuesday and Thursday 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: acting as the veterinarian's primary medical support, lab testing (in-house and out), client education, radiography, exam room assistance, patient care and general clinic cleaning. Experience in surgical assisting is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, outgoing and have exceptional customer service and communication skills. We are looking for applicants who have a strong work ethic and want to practice at the highest level of their abilities. Our doctors take the time with our clients and staff to explain procedures, and we expect our staff to practice the same level of caring communication in dealing with clients. Working Conditions The Veterinary Assistant full-time position requires a 32-40 hour work week, with possible intermittent weekends, holidays, overtime and/or evening work. Compliance with hospital safety and employee policy manual is expected. The Veterinary Assistant will have frequent contact with clients and patients in a fast-paced and changing work environment. He/she must be comfortable working around sick, injured, or unruly animals in an environment where the noise level can be moderately to very loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to reach or feel, climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must be able to lift up to 35-40 lbs. unassisted and up to over 100 lbs. with assistance. Qualifications Desired High school diploma or equivalent Veterinary Technician Registration in the state of Missouri desirable Minimum of one year working in a veterinary hospital or clinic Excellent communication, organizational, and technical skills Ability to work under pressure and stay calm in a high volume and potentially stressful environment Demonstrates professionalism and good judgment Regular and timely attendance is required If you are interested in a career in a fast-paced, positive environment with great co-workers and an A+ clientele, please submit your resume.
