Veterinary Assistant - Experience Required

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care of the animals in our shelter and clinic. The ideal candidate is compassionate and professional with excellent organizational and time management skills. Must have verifiable experience in an animal shelter or veterinary facility. Must Have Passion for animals and animal welfare. Knowledge of cats and dogs in regard to medical and behavior. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Ability and desire to interact with the public and volunteers. Ability to stay focused on the priorities of the job; strong time management skills Ability to work and think independently. Creative thinker and planner; Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement proactive solutions. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. Duties Daily care of cats and occasionally dogs in our shelter. Administering medication as needed. Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is up to date. Assist the veterinarian in clinic and surgery as needed. Collaborate with team members to provide excellent care and support. Experience Preferred candidates will have experience in a veterinary clinic or related field. Skills that are beneficial for this role include: Knowledge of cat and dog care and best practices in a clinical setting. Familiarity with aseptic techniques used in shelter and veterinary settings. Experience in kennel management or animal handling. Ability to effectively use time management and efficiency. Proficient in working with veterinary software and Excel.
