Veterinary Assistant

Company Description Big Ridge Veterinary Hospital is a small-animal veterinary hospital located at 7400 WASHINGTON AVENUE in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. We are a two-doctor practice that is dedicated to providing high-quality and compassionate veterinary care for pets, primarily cats and dogs, in our community. Our team of dedicated veterinarians and staff work together to ensure the health and well-being of every patient and the satisfaction of every client that walks through our doors. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role as a veterinary assistant at Big Ridge Veterinary Hospital. As a veterinary assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the doctors with whatever tasks are needed. This will include, but is not limited to: running sick and wellness appointments, collecting detailed information on each case, assisting with veterinary medicine and vaccination procedures, running labwork and tests, restraining patients safely for the doctors, and educating clients on pet care and wellness. You will work closely with our veterinarians and support the overall operations of the hospital. Qualifications Strong Communication Skills Basic Knowledge of Veterinary Medicine & Procedures Experience in the Veterinary Field (preferred) Comfort in Discharging Patients & Explaining Pet Wellness to Clients Attention to Detail Excellent Organization & Multitasking Abilities Ability to Handle & Restrain Animals Safely & Compassionately Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment Ability to Work Well With Others Ability to Accept & Follow Direction Experience with Avimark is a Bonus To Apply We would love to meet you!
