Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Kennel Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care in a dynamic veterinary environment. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our animal patients and boarding pets. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure animals receive the highest standards of care, comfort, and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, supporting veterinary professionals while fostering a compassionate atmosphere for pets and their owners. Responsibilities Clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels, cages, and treatment areas to ensure a hygienic environment for animals. Assist with animal handling, restraint, and observation to support veterinary procedures and daily care routines. Administer medications and treatments under veterinary supervision, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any concerns or abnormalities promptly to veterinary staff. Support pet care activities such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and exercise to promote animal well-being. Maintain accurate records of medication administration, treatments, and animal observations in compliance with clinic procedures. Assist with laboratory tasks including sample collection and processing to aid in diagnostic testing. Qualifications Previous kennel experience or animal husbandry background preferred; experience working with animals in veterinary or shelter settings is highly valued. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and restraint techniques. Experience with medication administration, aseptic technique, and laboratory procedures is advantageous. Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs and horses; familiarity with equine care is a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with veterinary team members and providing compassionate pet care. A proactive attitude with a passion for animal welfare and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. Pay:
$10.00 - $15.00 per hour
