Veterinary Assistant and Technician

Job Summary Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital is a private owned, growing, multi-doctor veterinary hospital offering a wide range of services, including preventative care, diagnostics, surgery, and urgent care. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to our patients while building lasting relationships with our clients. As we continue to expand, we are looking for team members who are passionate about veterinary medicine and eager to grow with us. We are currently seeking Veterinary Assistants, Registered Veterinary Technicians, or Veterinary Technician Assistants to join our growing team. We are excited to share that our hospital will be moving into a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in the very near future (weeks). This expanded space will allow us to continue growing and enhancing the level of care we provide to our patients and clients. It is only 3 miles down the road from our current location. Duties/Skills Patient Care & Handling Safe restraint of dogs and cats (including fractious patients) Basic husbandry (feeding, cleaning, walking patients) Monitoring hospitalized patients and reporting changes Clinical Support Assisting with exams and procedures Preparing exam rooms and treatment areas Cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining equipment Basic lab handling (fecals, urine prep, sample handling) Workflow & Team Support Strong multitasking in a fast-paced environment Following established protocols and checklists Clear communication with technicians and doctors Basic husbandry (feeding, cleaning, walking patients) Monitoring hospitalized patients and reporting changes Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Benefits are available following a 90-day introductory period for eligible full-time employees. Opportunities for growth and advancement Requirements Previous veterinary or animal handling experience preferred (but willing to train the right candidate) Basic computer skills required (experience with veterinary software is a plus) Availability for rotating weekends and flexible scheduling Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40+ lbs throughout the day Strong attendance and punctuality (reliable transportation required)
