Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Kennel Technician, where your passion for animal care and veterinary support will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for animals in our care, assisting veterinary professionals with daily tasks, and ensuring each pet receives compassionate attention. Your dedication will help us deliver exceptional pet care services while supporting the health and well-being of a diverse range of animals. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in veterinary procedures and client communication within a fast-paced veterinary setting. Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment to uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both pets and team members. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians, following aseptic techniques and proper documentation protocols. Handle animals with care using appropriate handling techniques for dogs, cats, and other small or large animals; ensure their comfort throughout their stay. Support front desk operations by managing pet check-ins and check-outs, scheduling appointments, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners. Monitor animal health status regularly, noting any changes or concerns related to animal physiology or behavior for veterinary review. Assist with laboratory procedures such as sample collection or processing to aid in diagnostic testing and animal health assessments. Support emergency response efforts by understanding veterinary critical care procedures and assisting with urgent animal needs when necessary. Keeping everything clean and orderly. Experience Candidates should possess prior experience working with animals in a kennel, pet care facility, or veterinary clinic setting. This is Prefered, but we are willing to train the right individual.
Specific skills include:
Kennel experience combined to ensure optimal living conditions for pets. Veterinary technician or assistant experience with familiarity in veterinary terminology and clinical procedures. Experience in animal handling across various species including dogs, cats, horses (equine experience is a plus), with proficiency in restraint techniques. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and aseptic techniques used in veterinary practice. Understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, catheterization procedures, and laboratory diagnostics enhances your ability to support comprehensive pet care.
