Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and other veterinary assistants by assisting with animal handling, treatment procedures, and client communication. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help ensure our furry patients receive compassionate, efficient, and top-quality care. Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations and procedures Support veterinarian with medication administration, sample collection, and laboratory testing Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques in treatment areas to uphold high standards of infection control Help with pet care duties including feeding, grooming, and monitoring animal behavior for signs of distress or illness Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and processing patient records Support animal husbandry activities including cleaning kennels, feeding schedules, and general facility maintenance Aid in specialized procedures such as placing an i.v catheter or assisting with laboratory tests when needed Qualifications Previous kennel experience or animal care background preferred; experience in veterinary clinics is highly valued Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and restraint techniques Familiarity with veterinary terminology, medication protocols, and aseptic procedures Experience working with dogs, and cat patients is a plus; ability to handle diverse species confidently Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting animals or equipment and standing for extended periods Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to veterinary diagnostics is advantageous Join us if you're passionate about animals, eager to learn new skills, and ready to contribute to a caring veterinary environment. Pay:
$10.00 - $12.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
