Highland Animal Hospital 981 S. McPherson Church Road Fayetteville, NC 28303 Job Type Full-Time Pay $10.00 - $13.00 per hour, based on experience Job Description Highland Animal Hospital is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking Kennel Team Member to join our team. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily care and wellbeing of boarding pets while maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. The ideal candidate has a genuine love for animals, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing excellent care to dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Responsibilities Feed, water, and monitor boarding pets Walk and exercise dogs as scheduled Administer medications as directed Bathe pets, including those that may be fearful or resistant Monitor pets for signs of illness, injury, stress, or distress Notify veterinary staff of any concerns regarding a pet's condition Keep patients clean, dry, comfortable, and safe during their stay Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, cages, and common areas daily Maintain cleanliness of kennel grounds and facility Remove trash, sweep, mop, and perform general housekeeping duties Launder bedding, towels, and surgical linens Follow all hospital policies and procedures Help ensure a positive experience for pets and their owners Qualifications Must have a strong love for animals and commitment to their care Previous kennel, animal care, veterinary, boarding, or daycare experience preferred Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and observation skills Reliable transportation is required Must be punctual and dependable Must be comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments Ability to stand, bend, lift, walk, and work in a physically demanding environment Working Conditions This position requires: Exposure to animal odors, noises, and waste Handling pets that may be fearful, stressed, or aggressive Potential exposure to bites and scratches Regular cleaning and sanitation duties Working both indoors and outdoors as needed Schedule Requirements Must be available to work weekends and holidays Flexible scheduling based on boarding needs and hospital operations At AmeriVet, we're committed to your growth, development, well-being, and success.
