Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Clinic Assistant, Vet Assistant, or Vet Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced veterinary professionals in a fast-paced, pet-centered environment. You will be instrumental in supporting daily clinic operations, assisting with animal treatments, and ensuring the well-being of our furry, feathered, and scaled patients. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with clinical procedures, including animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection. Provide compassionate pet care and handle animals safely using proper animal handling techniques. Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques during surgical and laboratory procedures to prevent infection. Support front desk operations by patient records, and client communication. Perform animal husbandry duties such as feeding, bathing, and monitoring health status. Handle laboratory tasks including sample processing, basic testing, and record keeping. Assist with specialized procedures such as animal catheterization and understanding animal physiology and anatomy. Ensure proper documentation of treatments, medications administered, and patient progress. Support kennel duties by cleaning enclosures, monitoring animal behavior, and ensuring a safe environment for all animals. Contribute to team efforts in emergency critical care situations for animals requiring urgent attention. Qualifications Previous kennel experience or background in animal husbandry is highly desirable. Experience working in veterinary clinics or with veterinary technicians is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, pet care practices, and animal physiology is essential. Skilled in animal restraint techniques and dog/cat handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Ability to administer medications accurately following aseptic techniques. Laboratory experience or familiarity with diagnostic procedures adds value. Strong communication skills for client interactions. Demonstrate ability to handle animals safely under various circumstances with patience and compassion.
