• Part-time Veterinary assistant needed for busy modern AAHA accredited animal hospital in Wesley Chapel, NC.

Position Summary:

Primarily responsible for providing effective assistance to veterinary technicians in all aspects of patient care and client service including but not limited to restraining animals, bathing animals, and lots of cleaning.

Qualifications Required:

High School diploma or its equivalent

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Effectively restrain animals for veterinarians to examine and perform procedures Obtain blood, stool, urine and bodily excretions from patients and demonstrate proper handling of specimens Cleaning up and Disposal of animal eliminations and animal remains Administration of oral and injectable medications Effectively utilize in house laboratory equipment Extensive cleaning of hospital and equipment demonstrating appropriate disinfecting techniques Bathing animals and performing simple grooming procedures including but not limited to nail trims, anal gland expression, sanitary clips, and lion cuts Proper handling, cleaning and maintenance of hospital equipment including but not limited to surgical instruments Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities Computer proficiency with Microsoft word and excel Perform other related duties as assigned Success Factors/Job Competencies Strong Team Player Time Management
